T-40 -- The United States of America was founded as a free republic with an elected representative form of government whose only power and legitimacy is granted by the people themselves. Starting with FDR, the citizens have steadily relenquished power to the people who are elected to serve us, creating a elitist class of tyrants in the process. Fully 90% of the ''laws'' or ''bills'' passed by the federal congress and signed by the President are unconstitutional. This would all reverse itself in fairly short order if the majority of US citizens really wanted to be free again -- but they don't, because freedom requires taking responsibility for themselves and their families. The majority of the voters in the last national election wanted something for nothing and believed that the current president would give it to them. He will throw a few scraps to keep his voting block lapping his hand but they will never know prosperity. Taxing, which is stealing from the productive people to subsidize the lazy and the stupid leads to the situations that several US states now find themselves in. One last fact, people leave Michigan and Ohio and go to Texas and other Southern states to escape the high taxes and keep more of the money that they earn for themselves and their families instead of throwing it down a bloated rat hole of state government.
