I participate a lot on the OldIHC.org truck boards, and I don't know how many times someone will say something to the effect of, "Manuals? We don't need no steenkeen manuals!", and then turn around and ask a question about the old canister oil filter [or something similar] that's shown in detail in the owners manual, the parts manual,or the service manual.
And, invariably, the same questions get asked over and over and over...by folks without manuals, of course. One IHC truck site advises questioners to "learn how the 'search' function works" before asking a question, but IMHO that establishes a negative attitude from the get-go.
I own the manuals for my trucks, and I refer to them BEFORE asking a question. Saves me a lot of embarrassment.
