We've had both, see no significant difference in either service or price.
Check to see if there's a terrestrial wireless internet service in your area. We've had it in both California and Colorado, and they work great. We dropped it here when the local phone company finally got around to running DSL out to where we are. Cost was comparable to DSL. DSL seems to be a little faster, but not a huge difference. Depending on how close you are to a tower, they use either a small flat radio or a dish similar to a direct broadcast TV dish.
Cell phone (3G) based service from a cell provider is also an option, but I understand it's relatively expensive and there isn't always good coverage.
A google search on "wireless internet service providers" will pop up several sites with lists of terrestrial wireless providers. I've attached a link listing providers in Wisconsin by city.
Note that "wireless internet" is not the same thing as "WiFi" Wireless internet is a point to point microwave system based on Motorola Canopy hardware, WiFi is the short range system used in place like coffee shops, resturants, and wireless routers for homes.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
