Noise…thanks for less
It has been a cold and wet fall here and though it has been tough on harvests and hay making, (rain, rain, rain) it has reduced the amount of needless noise from the beer belly motorcycle tourists.
Sure was nice back in the old days when you could set outside on a warm fall evening and enjoy the peace and quiet in every direction. Now some fellow or gang of fellows (most are afraid to ride alone) think they are helping us enjoy our life by echoing streams of motor noise off the surrounding hills as they thunder past on their way to nowhere.
Lots of theories are out there as to why noise is such an important part of motorcycling.
A) It gives the cycle more power: as if 80 MPH wasn’t enough. B) The more noise it makes, the more virile the driver is….like the size of the noise is the size of the tool? Right? C) The amount of noise covers up the lack of maleness….if you can’t , just make a lot of noise and no one will notice. More likely right. Get out the magic blue pills! D) Your Mommy and Daddy liked your brothers and sisters better than you, so you never got any good toys, and now you want everyone to know that you finally bought your own toy. E) You think that fat old gal behind you likes noise. Pssst, she’s wearing earplugs! F) You are just an inconsiderate jerk.
Kinda like the truck driver that pulls the Jake Brake all the way down the hill into town. LOOK at me!!!! See me!!! WOW!!! I’m driving a big big truck! no teeth, an 8th grade diploma and living in a 12’ wide with plywood windows. We all know he doesn’t own the truck. Heck he probably doesn’t even own a ’94 Neon.

Some have been very good, some have been well, disappointing to say the least. But no matter how good or bad auctions may be, we always seem to stay until the item we've come for or are interested in is on the block. I've been to some auctions near and far. I think the furthest has been the Two Cylinder 7 in the Amana Colonies last year. Lots of stuff, lots of people. I've also atten
