I think we actually were there twice. Its located on highway 163 from Southeast Utah to Northeast Arizona and other then Monument Valley, theres really not much else to see or do or stay or anything along the route BUT I STILL CONSIDER IT A MUST SEE. You will recognize EXACTLY those big rock towers where the westerns were filmed. We wear at the Four Corners first n then headed east on 160 to 41 N to 262 to 163 then southwest to monument valley. The thing is if youre in that area Grand Canyon and Bryce arent all that far butttttttttt plan wayyyyyyy ahead n get reservations.
I think on Travel Channel I saw some American Orient Express train trips in tee area but they are expensive. The freedom and less expensive RV trip is how we had to go when raising 3 kids.
We raised 3 kids with RV travel n camping and it was the best most memorable experience one could have. Now they have jobs n spread out n getting kids of their own but I dont see them doing the same with their families which really makes me sad, I guess we will have to take the grandkids on trips??
