Rob, the battery box on my 730D ES is the same. The battery box on an electric start has to hold four (4) six volt batteries and is bigger and is completely different than the pony start box. The cushion is bigger too. The smaller box was designed first, and looks like it's supposed to fit. They had to enlarge the box to get all those batteries in there, and did not change the castings to fit the seat. Hope this helps. JC
