Ed: I have owned/used both a Ford F-550 with 7.3 L diesel and an International 4200 with International's version of the 6.0 L. Granted there is a difference in the GVW between the two, but for my money, I'll go with the IH any day. More truck, more stability, better visibility (probably because you seem to sit higher), etc. With Ford you get cookie cutter specs, while with IH you have more options (fuel tank location and capacity, rear axle ratio, seats, wheelbase, transmission, etc. I would never go back to a Ford or Chevy. Go to a heavier GVW; you will not be sorry!
