I don't ask many questions but a few years back I ask if anyone had a bad Dorf rim laying around they could cut a foot and a half patch out of it that I could buy, trade, or bum.
I only received warnings that I would be getting myself or someone else killed trying to patch a rim. I thought was funny any tounge in cheek comments started quite a rubarb that was really funny also. I posted that my fear level was not all that high as in the early 1960's Sohio had trained me in high pressure pipe welding. Someone posted back that there was a big difference between welding a wheel and pipe. Although it must have not been to the protectors of us foolish non yuppies that repaired rather than by new all our lives.
