Today I went to weld a Bracket for the "charming " decorative flags that the wife makes me Hang on our front porch, it broke with the wind yesterday. I drug out the welding machine and it started right up (surprise surprise) I had the piece clamped together on the bench and when I fired up on it the welder died after the second tack (rust in the gas tank) I went to clean the sediment bowl and noticed the tank was leaking, next thing I know the tank is drained and on the bench next to what I started working on. I spent the next 20 minutes trying to find my BIG soldering iron only because I wasn't interested in blowing myself up by using the torch then waited 10 mins. for it to heat up another 5 to fix the leak and then another 10 to put it back together and finally another 5 to finish what I started out to do, 4 simple tack welds 1 hour and 45 minutes. That is a lot better then when I went to change the cab filters in my big tractor, took the covers off the back the filters came right out and then I looked inside and saw all the garbage in the fan and before you know it the seat is out the floor is up and I'm in there with the shop vac cleaning out the airbox put it all back together put in the new filters and the simple 5 minute job ended up taking 2 1/2 hours but I Have to say the heat and A/C work much better now. Sometime those quick little jobs turn out to be a real P.I.T.A. Enough said!
