Having spent 6 years in the Navy from the late 80"s to early 90"s, all I can say is I wish him well. After getting in I longed for the "old days" when the disipline and respect that had been a standard of military service was still inn practice. What I experienced was more along the lines of political correctness in the form of s3xual orientation "equality" gender "equality", racial equality, etc, etc, etc, all at any cost.
I can"t count the number of times when I saw/heard of someone getting into trouble over something they may or may have not said or did, or worse over something that someone just accused them of as a form of retribution when soemthing didn"t go the way they wanted it to.
On top of all of that I also saw many many times the way our government flat out wasted money yet was always asking for higher taxes and "more" when they literally threw away what they were given.
While I respect the heck out of your boys desire to serve and wish him the best I just hope things haven"t gotten any worse than they were when I was in. I wouldn"t take anything for the experience I had back then, but seeing what I saw and learning what I learned when I was in and then what I"ve seen since getting out, there is no way I would suggest the military as a career for anyone nowdays......especially with the person currently holding this countries title of Commander in Chief......
