Had a guy about 25 years ago playing basketball when he was supposed to be fixing trucks. Was showing off and dropped on a knee. Ended up getting a surgery and then got out of the army with 30%. About 10 years later I ran across a guy that knew him, he had gained over 100 pounds and was listed at 60% because he had ankle problems also. Occupying a good gov job that he got based on the 30% and couldn't get fired from without an act of congress. Have since seen plenty examples of the same.
There are 2 kids in the community that I work with big chunks of an arm missing and one with a leg that stops above the knee that are still soldiering and don't plan on quiting. Keep that in mind when you want to fight to raise that 20% or claim tinnitus.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the service of every vet, just find some a little hard to stomach.
