I tell myself that I'm not going to read your posts, they're always political, but I do. I also tell myself that I'm not going to respond to your posts, a waste of time, but here I am.
Yes I do remember the free "cheese program". We were dirt poor when I was a kid - dad had a heart attack when I was about 10 and mom sold the farm right out from under him cause he wouldn't slow down. I never could understand why my folks wouldn't accept the free commodities that were offered. Maybe that's what makes me want to pay my own way today.
We shouldn't look down on poor folks. Some of them aren't there by choice, and we're all poor by someone's standards. Not saying we should give them the farm.
