Ok dippy, er I mean trucker40, let me expalin this so even you can understand.
Let's say you own your own diesel truck repair shop, not that you could because you would never take that risk on your own, but let's just say you did.
And let's say you have 4 or 5 mechanics working for you and you pay them what you think they're worth, and you pay yourself a good wage. But you find that you have some jobs that need doing that you don't have time to do yourself, and the mechanics have to do what they're doing, so you hire a parts runner and a bookkeeper. It's only fair that they make what the mechanics are making right? Well maybe not, because their service isn't as valuable to you as the mechanics who have gone to diesel school and have years of experience. So you pay these guys less. Now they won't like that, they think their contributions to your company are just as important as anyone's, but you're the boss and you say they are only worth $10 an hour. Now the government comes along and says you must pay the $20 an hour. So you pay them $20 an hour. Only now you realize there isn't enough money coming in to pay them that much, so what do you do? Do you pay the mechanics less? No, they'll find another job paying them what they are worth somewhere else. Do you take less yourself? I suppose since it's you the answer would be yes. Just because you have a loan to pay back that you got to start you buisness, and you have a mortgage at home to pay, and a kid in college, you'll just take less, right? Only you find that you then don't have enough to pay your bills! Now what do you do? You let one of them go, and make the other guy do both jobs, because they both need doing and you're busy running the business, and the mechanics are busy working on the trucks. Or, you could just go out of buisness and everyone loses their jobs.
Tell me another way that it works? There isn't one. There are laws in economics and buisness. You can only pay someone what they are worth. You might want to pay them more, but there is only so much money coming in. This is what happens in every buisness all across the country. You call them rich greedy SOB's, but other people call them boss and rely on them for their income. As many of other people have told you time and time again, poor people don't employ anyone. It's the people that took a risk and started a company. You hold that against them. Others are thankful to them.
