Get that thing out there an romp on the go pedal. And I mean romp on it! If that transmission squeaks, don't even think about it. I had a 2006 for a company car. Torque converter went to full lock up. Push the brake pedal it would kill the engine. There is no insulation in the floor. It is LOUD. Rotate the tires every 3000 miles if you can. Every Escape that someone from my compay has driven has cupped the inside of the tires. I have a 2008 right now with 86K. I put 90K on the 2006. I drove the wheels off them.
I am not kidding about the tires and the noise though. And, don't think you can fold the rear seat down and drive without ear plugs. The noise is 10 times worse with the rear seat folded down.
