You do not need to go that far south to see planting.
While the sugarcane crop should have been planted in Aug I did see one grower doing some planting in mid Oct. The problem is the rain we had in Aug and Sept. While they can harvest in the rain it is real hard for them to plant in the rain. The harvest is going full steam ahead right now and they should finish up somewhere about Jan 1.
All the strawberry growers have finished planting (mid Oct) and will start picking berries in mid to late Jan if the weather treats them right.
There are other crops grown around here but this is the two main soil crops in my area.
