Looks like a nice size, what did you figure the weight was and age ?
Around here, we just don't get them that big, though some are around, still a fair amount of hunters and lots of cover, so I'm thinking most are young but mature enough to be worth taking, as we try to be selective, though some hunters are not. Between the cover and the area they cover, the smarter/mature ones, are seldom seen, but there are lots of 24" rubs, everywhere you look actually, not hard to find rub marks at all.
Opening day was yesterday, I took a small buck 6 pt, as I don't have much hunting time this year, very thankful to have done so, and hope I can fill my other tags.
Great thing is they have been feeding heavily on 2nd growth oats after the summer harvest and young oats I planted, finished with grass feed ought to make for good meat, hung skinned and gutted right after it was shot, let er hang overnight, and now am going to cut it up, high 40's headed to 50's so no time to waste, overnight ought to have aged it a bit, was in the 30's
