Authorities say a rural Oakes, North Dakota man died from injuries after he fell off the top of a grain bin on a farm near Oakes on Friday afternoon. Forty-two-year-old Paul Allen Schmitz was working on a farm about one mile south of Oakes outside the city limits. He was transported to the Community hospital in Oakes following the accident.
Schmitz and his family were long time supporters of the North Dakota Winter Show cattle auction along with FFA and 4-H activities.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes at 1 p.m .
