The pond is on Rt 30 not far from what I think used to be a state owned farm. There is also a number of nice old state owned brick buildings at the end of the pond. I am not sure but I think the river is the "West River". It begins in the Bromley, Stratton Mountain, and Mt Snow areas. All the expensive man made snow was melting in the heavy 60 degree rain yesterday.
I called it a mill pond because the topography doesn't seem flat enough for a natural pond of that size. There is a small gravel parking lot (20 or so cars) between the pond and Rt 30.
