From here it's hard to tell... glad you got better though. Brown recluse bites tend to start out very unimportant but gradually enlarge over days to weeks until there can be a hole in your skin/muscle the size of a golf ball. There really isn't much helpful treatment but they generally heal although it takes a long time to fill in. If you had a bite like that I think you'd have known it. There is another possibility (tick bite paralysis). As long as it's plugged in, you stay "locked". The cure is simple - remove the tick! You may have had one that got full and detached on its own. Again, hard to tell without actually seeing the patient.
