By the time GM came out with the DX block 5.7 engine (mostly to satisfy law suits), the new 6.2 was out. So, few people cared much anymore. Car owner's felt burned, and truck drivers were buying 6.2 GMs or 6.9 Fords. That except for the great little diesel Chevettes.
I thank the awful record of the 5.7s for giving a bad rap to the much better 6.2s. I bought many cheap since many people insisted they were just doctored up 5.7s.
Those DX 5.7 diesels now are sought after to convert into gas engines for racing.
