How ironic you bring this up. I just lost my dog a month ago. Wondered out to US hy. 14. Didn't have a chance with all the traffic on that road. Kinda mysterious too as he never wandered off the place before. I suspect he got on the trail of a cyote I had on the run in the corn field the nite before. Any way he was a good dog but not my best. Best was an Irish setter I had maybe 25 years ago. Wife use to let him in the front mud room of the house when she and the girls were home alone. Very protective of the little girls. He always recognised the sound of my pickup when I came home but one afternoon I sopped down by the shed for something and then walked up to the house. Not thinking about the dog I just walked right into the house and when that dog heard the door open he lunged right for my throat. Before he bit me he recognized it was me and just fell on a heep at my feet. If it had been anyone else I pitty the out come of that poor sole. What a dog.
