John, to add to what you said, type F is not as "slippery" as type A or Dextron. And type F is not as "wet". Type F was intended for use in transmissions that have paper bands and clutches while type A or Dextron is for use in transmissions that have organic bands and clutches. Type F can be used with organic friction materials, but type A or Dextron will cause slippage and failure of paper friction materials. Some drag racers use type F with organic linings to get a little more friction and firmer shifts, but I wouldn't care to try this experiment on anything of mine.
