And I just had to read this one didnt I!!! 2 weeks before this past Christmas. I get a call from my folks on a monday morning that my horse of 20 years was down on her side heading head first down a draw in a 10 inch snow storm. I get there and she has blood coming out of her nose and breathing is slow and painful. Dont know what or how but the evening before she was out and about running and kicking. Left side which was in the snow had no movement frozen stiff. SO to make a long story short. We got her turned so head was up above the rest of the body and figured if we could get her on a tarp and tie a rope around all corners we might pull her up to the barn and get her in alittle warmer conditions. HAHA sounded good at the time. took about half hour to get the tarp and the tractor down to her. (ever try to start a tractor in -0 degrees in a hurry) By the grace of God she died somewhere in my 30 minutes of rushing around. I didnt figure she'd make it even if somehow I got her up to the barn. But I cried like 35 year old baby. I was 15 when I got her. Broke, and trained her myself. Won't be another one like her. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
