I have a Massey Ferguson model 231 tractor with a Perkins 3 cylinder diesel engine in it. Yesterday, I was using it and the transmission got stuck in a forward gear. The shift lever looks like it is in 1st gear but the tractor speed seems faster than that. The shift lever is stuck in that gear and no amount of force will move it. The clutch is working fine as is the high and low range lever. Its just stuck in gear. Any ideas how to get it to shift without pulling the top of the transmission off?
