I'm with you Sparky. Self sufficiency and doing things yourself is great, and I'm very much that way myself. Funny thing is, people with this outlook on life seem to have the most trouble recognizing the limits of their capabilities. These are the kind of poeple who either make it to the moon, of get blown up in their home made rocket. Making matters worse is that the less one knows about something the simpler it appears. I've spent my share of time correcting mistakes that should not have happened in the first place. And having said that, Charlie, nothing personal, but I think this is one where you could get blown up in the rocket...Al English

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
