Unfortunately I think you are all wrong. The best pre-1960 tractor has got to be the Case 400 row crop. A transmission with eight speeds that was heavier than any oliver in its class at the time. A choice of reliable gas or diesel engines. And good brakes, which is something that most Olivers lack. I will give it credit for it's engine and hydraulics, but most olivers I have seen dont have enough rear end weight to pull large loads like other brands, and you certainly can't say that it's transmision is heavier than a JD 730. I am not cut up in one brand or another as I have many in my sheds but I just feel that your choice was made in haste and you seem to feel that oliver is superior to all other brands, unfortunately when it comes down to it the only surviving brand on it's own feet is JD, so I say that they rein supreme, even though like I say I am not byist.
