Favorite customer service story was at the JD dealership, about 30 years ago. I had bought an old JD H manure spreader, needed to put together a new bottom chain for it. Went in to the dealership, and talked to Herb. Herb was one of those guys whose "forgot more than you'll ever know" about JD stuff. When I told him what I was trying to do, he said, "I think we've got what you need up in the attic". Sent a young lad up there, and he came down with a complete bottom chain for the H- It was marked $83. Would have been 4 times that much, at current prices. Some other parts guys told him "there's probably a price update on that", but Herb said, "This thing has been sitting in our attic for 25 years, I'm not going to jack the price and lose a sale." Everyone just smiled, as no one had the nerve to cross Herb, and I got my bargain.

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
