I have used the same parts house since I was a kid. I know them, they know me. One day my nephew was having starting problems in the next town near where he lived. I went over and diagnosed it as needing a starter. One of his buddies worked at a big name chain store a few blocks away, so we went there. The starter was a Delco in an old Jeep mail wagon. The buddy came up with 3 different Motorcraft starters (obviously wrong), then stated that he had to order it in. I politely told him that we were in a hurry so we would go to another store I knew. When we walked in the counter guy said "Tim, what in the world are you working on?". I told him, and held up the old starter. He said "that looks like a XXXX. He didn't even look it up in the book, He just went back, and grabbed one off the shelf. We compared them, It was the right one. My nephew just stood there with his mouth open. I told him that you have to find a good place with good help, and keep going there. Tim in OR
