I have had both, and the truth is it depends on alot of different things. A cab without air in summer can be an oven, but I have one on my 966 IH without air and it is quite comfortable with both doors off and the back window open, and in the winter or late fall when putting out manure doors on and heater running it is great to have a cab. Heat housers do bring a good bit of engine heat back to the driver but do nothing to keep the snow from going in your face, and down your neck when you blow snow. So ventilation is your dilemma , not enough you cook ,too much and you freeze.
