Bill if it turns out to be a one wire alternator and it is good you need to get more RPM to your alternator you could pout a smaller pulley on your alternator the smallest one that you can by is 2-1/2 inches but if you go to farm and fleet you can by a pulley that you can make work and it will fit the wider belt to I now you can get them down to 1-1/2inch may be down to one inch. All I did whose by the pulley with 5/8 hole cut the lug where the set screw is off and you will have to open up the hole about .020 the make it fit on you alternator and by a couple washers for the back of the pulley to figer the RPM at your alternator divide your crank shaft pulley diameter by you alternator pulley and take that number times you idle speed that will give you the RPM of you alternator and I read the one wire starts to charge at 1600 RPM. Feel free to Email me if needed more help
