My 8N I was given by an acquaintance that was moving. His father had left it in the garage and it had not run in ten years. The guy just wanted it gone. As of today, including gas, I have less than $400 into her. This summers (or next winters) project is a complete Farmall H that my Brother-In-Law got in a deal for 2 parts tractors for $300. He stripped parts from one and fixed up my sisters H and still has a tractor and a half left. Cost to me will be drayage. Been watching another Ford in back of a farm. Sitting there gathering rust and weeds. Looks like a hundred series or maybe an NAA. Will aproach the guy next time he has an implement for sale on his lawn which he does 2-3 times a year. Also watching a small yellow crawler that has a Chevy emblem on the hood. Looks like a Case, but I do like the emblem :-) I used to be a swivelneck for Jeeps (still do actually), but find myself looking in every hedgerow and behind every barn for old iron now. Lots of it out there...

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
