Here is some of my thoughts. First thing is make sure your trailer hitch is at the right height. I like to have a rise of a inch to 10 feet of bed length. In other words on a 20 foot trailer you want the front of the bed about 2 inches higher than the back of the bed when hooked to your truck and both truck and trailer empty. I like this because once you are loaded it tends to make the trailer level or close to it. Using a 3/4 ton truck, I would lower your trailer jack till its about 1 inch of the ground. Then load your tractor, and drive your tractor foward till the jack just touches the ground. That would be about the right tounge weight. I myself like to drive my tractors on the trailer.
