Well maybe I said pressboard for more sensationalism but I did see on a morning show they said the cabinet was made in china. And I hope you can see the infomercial for the pure stupidity of it. If that were really a "factory" it would be a world record for inefficiency. And if they are sending a guy out across the country with one on his wagon everytime a call comes in...another record. It is just a big joke.
I know nothing about the Amish except around Hutchinson KS they clog up the roads with tractors pulling stock trailers full of more amish. I see them all over Eastern Ks S of KC. Also once while I was checking out of a hotel in Davenport, Iowa i was in line behind a amish slob and he had the worst BO I have ever been exposed to. I had to stay away from him....this was like 0645! I was just hoping I didn't just sleep in a bed he has ever been in....Anyway I don't have any reason to interract with them and I don't care if they are really involved with these heaters or not. I saw one in a farm store (orschelin's) that was being demonstrated and it just looked like a cheapo heater to me....i didn't spend 3 seconds looking at it. You know when you can instantly tell it is cheap, it probably is.
My thought is they are banking on selling it to stupid people that shell out their money and then later don't want to admit (even to themselves) they have been had. therefore, they don't send it back.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
