We have had weather like this in my life time and I'm 52.
We just got spoiled in the early 2000's with mild winters.
Most of the guys that have crops in the field yet were trying to save money on drying and got caught. Others are just farming more than they should. We have had other years with wet crops but the weather held to get it out later when it dried a little more for them.
Ask someone about the winters in the mid 1940's.
In the 50's they had wet weather and they waited for a freeze to get the machinery across.
In 73 we planted late and harvest was late as well.If fact 73 was the latest we ever planted and harvested.
In 2005,06,and 07. We were done with a dry harvest in October. JUST 2 years ago.
This weather will change to the good again. And then back to bad again.
