Sickle bar mowers are very hard on nesting birds & cats. We've mowed too many of these, & it's worth mentioning. When we see a phesant in time we pick up the mower & go over, but that just seems to leave a marker for the foxes, and the phesant disappears pretty quick... Cats hide from the tractor in the tall grass & the mower clips a leg or 2 off, and water edges are a favored hunting spot for my cats anyhow. --->Paul
