Stan, just the other day I was telling a friend that when I went to high School I used to work the summers for an electricl/plumbing contractor. The owner took the time to show me how to do a joint in a cast pipe, using the hemp rope and lead, making a couple of"pours and then driving the lead and hemp in tight and making a finish pour and chiseling the pou smooth with inside and outside chisels..an absolute lost art..everybody rips old cast out and puts in plastic DWV
