i have a 06 duramax i can notice a slight tick when its idleing it is very faint but seems to go away when i start to accelarate.mine has a utility bed full of tools a 251 miller welder a set of cutting torches with tanks.it weighs in at 10500 lbs i get a honest 14.5 to 15.5 mpg i drive 150 mile round trip to work and back 130 of the miles are interstate i drive 65nph most of the time i have 126000 some miles on it.i replace the passenger side front wheel assembly at 119000 some miles had the egr valve cleaned for 100 bucks and had to have some kind of air sensor replaced for 286 bucks. are you going by the computer for the mpg if so i would check it yourself a few times see what you are actually getting.these are the only problems i have had with this truck hope this helps RICK.
