I'll assume you mean that the pump is mounted on the loader frame as described below since I can't see how you could mount it on an arm. On my dad's 2N, the pump is mounted on a bracket in front of the tractor. The bracket is bolted to the frame of the loader. The frame is mounted to the front of the engine. When you mount the pump, you need to make certain that the center of the pump's drive shaft is exactly in line with the center of the spline plate on the front of the engine's crank pulley. The shaft must be perpendicular to the crank pulley. Any misalignment at all will cause wear on the splines. The worse the misalignment gets, the faster the splines will wear. On my dad's 2N we wore out one splined driveshaft in a couple of months. We then fixed the alignment problem and the second splined driveshaft has lastes several years and is still going strong.
