Look over in the article archives here. There are several discussions covering this topic, and its pros and cons. My personal opinion is, that if the tractor is a working tractor, and you need to use it regularly, then convert. If it is going to be a "show" type tractor, then leave it 6 volts, and fix your problems using the 6 volt system. Others here disagree, but it sure is nice the way my old Ford cranks now that she is 12 volts. Good luck! Tommy D.
