I cannot begin to count the deaths of teenagers in my community that are the results of them being thrown from a vehicle in an accident. Many more than I could count on fingers and toes combined. Having said that does it happen in your community too?
How many teen lives have been cut short in your own area from being thrown out of a vehicle and crushed in a roll over? How many from being cut in two by a seatbelt or even severely damaged by such? I'd make a wager the former has a lot higher count than the latter and go so far as to say you could count the later on one hand.
After seeing old Indy races on television decades ago and with Warshawsky & Company offering them in their catalog I asked for a set for Christmas in 1964 and was given them. Before the next day was out I had installed them and have been wearing seat belts every since, even on my tractor, especially to instill the need upon my grandsons.
I'm very sorry that you witnessed such horror, but seat belts save thousands more lives each year than they jeopardize. I despise reading of a teen that lost their life because they were too stupid to wear a life saving seat belt.
Yes I'm opinionated and outspoken on the topic but life it precious.
