I played the Fireman and EMS for thirty plus years, and not a single one of our crew members refuse to wear a seat belt.
We have names for those that are super informed and choose not to wear them. I certianly intend to not offend anyone, but Perhaps save someone.
Got cut in half? What in the heck do you suppose his dead body would have looked like after taking the winshield tour? Think about if for crying out loud. That amount of force would kill them anyway.
I will give you the burn one, it can happen. All the facts perhaps are unknown at this point---would the person have been dead from the crash in the first place? If so the death would have been more pleasant no doubt. We are playing the odds game, with no guarentees.
Sorry guys and galls, it is a no brainer in my eyes and sorry excuses just don't get it.
Those who choose not to wear belts and helmets are more than welcome to come along with me to address the families after a accident, or a (stupid) death as often said. It is bad enough to tell a family, let alone if it probably could have been avoided. I'm not so sure I can even do it anymore.
If you choose to not belt yourself, sit in a chair for a week or so as they do in a wheel chair---it will increase your smarts.
Long before the belt laws were in our state we were taught a EMS class by a gentleman that helped me think different that Mr Old. He stated that no one should take his opinion, just walk through a junk yard and see the stars on the windshilds.
The top of your head will hit the top of the windshild first, thus throwing your neck into a snapping action you will remember the rest of your life. That often could be seconds, or often years in a wheel chair.
The death stars are not so common nowdays, and often hard to even find. Perhaps stronger glass?
What does this bad government have to gain or loose by inforcing belt and helmet laws? Yea some dollars no doubt.
Before you respond, anyone have a idea how long your insurance will last? And then the bad government must pay. --You probably best ask your insurance provider some real detailed questions before resonding. Then talk to some folks on total disability, and run some numbers for yourself.
Seldom does the agent that sold you the insurance know the true answer, they assume they are telling you facts. Sorry if I offended, and certianly to you old. you are a heck of a nice guy that I agree with 99% of the time, and you are a honest person to do busuness with. I just disagree this time 100%

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal.
