Just a few suggestions that you've probably done already.
Family tractor? Look for the sales receipt from the auction. I still have the one from my folks sale in 1965. Mom kept it.
Put an ad in the local shopper from that area.
Ask the neighbors. Sometimes you will get lucky and one on them will remember who got it.
Go down to the local hangout for the old famers where they drink coffee. You can't believe the wealth of information they can come up with. They go to a lot of sales. Hang a picture of it up on the bulletin board in the restaurant.
Ten years is not that long ago. There's surely someone that remembers where it went.
