Steve- Check your system ground polarity. If it is positive ground you probably need to connect the tach/dwell meter signal line to ground and the ground line to the points side of the coil. At to the point settings, remember the 66% rule- Dwell should be 60 degrees for 4 cylinder systems, 37 degrees for 6 cylinder systems, and 26 degrees for 8 cylinder systems. If you got a system that's been converted from 6 volt positive ground to 12 volt nagative ground, the coil primary connections need to be reversed from stock, so the spark polarity comes out right.
