Before you take the mag off for service, remove the cap and carefully wipe dry the inside of the cap and the rotor. Then lightly file or draw a piece of emery paper thru the points a few times, check the point gap and put it back together. You may get lucky and be rewarded with a working mag! This presumes the impulse coupling is working (snapping) when you crank the motor. If it does not then service by a mag shop is required. Good luck!
