I normally don"t respond to these non-trator discussions in these forums, but the so called "man made climate change" issue really jerks my chain.
Anybody that thinks they know whether man is causing "climate change" (the new name for "global warming" because "warming" was always a questionable finding) is either a fool or is arrogant. The complexity of the problem and the lack of data regarding all the processes that affect this issue are beyond the present state of knowledge. The weather in the next three days can"t be predicted with anymore about 67% confidence, if that, and these clowns are telling us that their "models" for 50 to 100 years from now are accurate. I certainly don"t know whether or not man is influencing the gobal weather, but I don"t think anybody else does either. I don"t say this out of arrogance but as someone with a technical background who knows a bit about the pitfalls in modeling even simpler physical processes when large ammount of good data are avaiable to check results of the modeling against. Having data to validate all the assumptions in the climate change models is greatly lacking. This issue has been politicized by Mr. Gore and now the side with the most money will find the so called "truth". In the mean time some real scientists will labor underfunded and unrecognized and find out the real truth. Unfortunately, the draconian measures put in place by the present Chicken Little crowd will all ready be in place. The bozos in DC have exposed themselves as real idiots on so many issues in the past year. I hope the people of this country realize that proposed climate change legislation reflects an even greater lack of knowlwedge ammong the politicians than the health insurance fiasco and vote accordingly in November.
