Steve, If you park the tractor near an electrical outlet, why not install a tank heater to warm your engine coolant on cold days? I think you will find that a warm engine is much easier to start and it is probably better for the engine to start warm than it is to start cold with the glow plugs. You can always use the glow plugs when not close to an electricity source.
