Good job LARRY , one of these days i will try to learn to post pix ,, went by uncles place ( 99) near Buechel / 6 Mile Lane area/ Louisvile Ky this AM, My Mom (87) working a 1000 pc. puzzle with him , while caretaking him and his very old (83 no Joke) 2nd wife rite now... while in that area, visited great granpas Used to be Farm .He Loaded wagons of potatoes directly onto railcars during WW 1 and WW 2 ,... over 240 acres Sold in 1969 NOW A SPRAWLING HOUSING complex , Summerfield Lane follows the Old FARM driveway lane . I found the Spring and remains of springhouse structure and foundation in what used to be the bottoms meadow ,. House and barn all gone for 30 years now , That barn was built in 1914 covered over 1/2acre ... gambrel style roof had 4 sets 22 ft length rafters ( as per great Uncle Les) , 11 feet of clear ceiling height underneath the loft for milking and farrowing baby pigs,. the Loft area was so big that we always could find a corner to play basketball when we visited back then , and on one end the floor was tongue and groove , for small grains , with a hammer mill directly underneath , ..... A lot of "Legacy of OLD Barn and Family Farm" / YOUR Stories come from memories of great grandpas barn , but,the County Commissioner part happened at my barn.. Because and From those many fruitful efforts , today at noon we had another LAND TRUST meeting ... And Now for the PUBLIC SERVICE PLEA ..Folks , We have got to do Smart Growth in the United States and take care of OUR best Land for Future generations ..
