My number one advice would be for next year. I don't give a rats rearend what anybody else tells you, here in Michigan,DON'T put the bull with those cows to breed them back before the 4th of July. Winter calving here doesn't work. Voice of experience here. There's absolutely no money in dead calves. With that said, the two things calves can't take are wind and wet. Keep them bedded and then stay out of the cows way. I STRONGLY advise that if you're calving in this weather, shut them up inside. They'll want to get off by themselves away from the other cows to calve, and they'll go over the hill,or out in a snow drift to do it and you'll find a frozen stiff calf.
