for years now we have been smoking boston butts for a fundraiser. Depends how much people around your area like bbq. We pay <> 10 bucks per but and spend 10 hours smoking them and sell for 30 bucks. Yield <> 8 pounds of smoked roasted pulled pork. Most places around here get $8 for a pound. We also sell BBQ plates for$7 (cost about 2$ and deliveer them to the business, We sell the plates to business owners who generally buy for all the emplyees and butts go to mostly individuals We smoke from 200-300 each year in two days in 3 smokers each holding about 35 butts. Make over 5 grand if done right and people are well satisfied becasue everyone is a winner,and the meat is excellent.
