Collecting and restoreing aren't the same thing!! "IF" you are a smart collecter, you will find harder to get tractor models that are in fairly good shape to start with. I've got a number of tractors that will make me more $$ today than if i had put the same money in a CD. AND, i'm still finding them to purchase. I know right now where there is a John Deere "L" with the origional serial number tag still on it (hard to find) has a full set of cultivators, and is Hercules powered (very early mfg.) that runs good. What is this tractor worth??? Around here $3,000.00 wouldn't be real hard to get for it. I guess if i put a $2,000.00 paint job on it, it would be harder to make money on. A lot of the tractors i see at shows are painted up better than they were new, and to me they kinda look like the same guy that drives a "cow boy cadiliac" probably owns that tractor as well! Robert
